In 2016 Sail Croatia founded Green Sail, a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports sustainable tourism in the Croatian nautical industry.
In 2024, Sail Croatia donated €3 per passenger to Green Sail, further funding the non-profit's grassroots sustainability efforts.

Green Sail offers Walking Tours to Sail Croatia guests, allowing the organisation to highlight the environmental challenges arising in Split from tourism. All money raised from Walking Tours goes straight back to Green Sail.
Green Sail educates the nautical tourism industry through its education and training programs for partners. It is proud to have educated over 800 Marina staff members since 2017.
The Green Sail Footprint verification system is used to measure and reduce the environmental impact of nautical tourism.

Every crew member must complete Green Sail's Marine Sustainability Course before the cruising season, ensuring they understand the issues impacting Croatia's nautical tourism industry.
Sail Croatia guests are educated on eco-initiatives through Green Sail’s Walking Tour, which highlight local history and sustainability efforts.
We encourage guests to reduce their use of single-use plastic bottles by ensuring water refill stations are available onboard our ships. Guests are advised to pack a reusable water bottle that can be re-filled onboard.
