SUMMARY

This Split Return North itinerary takes in the best National Parks and Nature Parks Croatia has to offer. This itinerary has a moderate grade, covering an average of 6 kilometres per day, with an average daily hike time of 2 hours.

This 7 day itinerary will set sail from the city of Split, heading north to the impressive destinations of Rogoznica, Zlarin, Telascica Nature Park, Sibenik and Skradin, before returning to Split.

This cruise is perfect for nature lovers, as it visits two National Parks and one Nature Park.

SUMMARY

Split is known for its beaches and the fortress-like complex at its centre, Diocletian's Palace, which was erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Once home to thousands, its sprawling remains include more than 200 buildings. Within its white stone walls and under its courtyards and galleries are shops, bars, cafes, cathedrals, hotels and several houses.

Check-in is from 10.30am to 12.00pm (midday). Please note your cabin may not be ready until 12:30pm. Your ship will depart the harbour at 1pm sharp.

SUMMARY

We'll depart Split Harbor at 1pm, cruising toward our first destination; Rogoznica. This small village offers a picturesque Old Town and remarkable wine - most famous for its 'Babic' variety.

This afternoon we'll kick off the week with a short hike around the picturesque town, visiting the Dragon Eye Lake along the way.

The ship will stay overnight in the port of Rogoznica.

DAY 1 HIKE

SUMMARY

This morning we leave Rogoznica behind and cruise towards the charming town of Primosten. We'll stop to explore this quaint town on foot, looping around the 'half-island' whilst taking in the beautiful sea views.

We head back to the ship for lunch onboard, before taking a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water to cool off.

This afternoon we sail to Zlarin, a 'green island' well known for its pristine nature thanks to a complete ban on cars on the island! The absence of cars makes it the perfect place to explore on foot!

Tonight you can enjoy this nature-lovers paradise and indulge in local cuisine at one of the many waterfront restaurants.

DAY 2 HIKE

SUMMARY

We depart Zlarin early this morning and begin cruising towards the impressive Telascica Nature Park, located on the southern end of Dugi Otok.

Telascica Nature Park is a striking and inspiring destination, with hidden beaches, islets and secluded bays on one side, and steep karst cliffs on the other. These dramatic views make for a visually astounding background for today's hike.

We'll walk along the cliff face, through the Aleppo pine forests and traverse some of the coastal inlets this area is famous for.

After our hike, we head back to the boat to enjoy lunch onboard. This evening we'll anchor in a quiet bay within the Nature Park, allowing you to truly relax and immerse yourself in this unique location.

DAY 3 HIKE

SUMMARY

From Telascica, we sail towards the charming city of Zadar, which once served as the region’s cultural and historical hub. Lunch will be served onboard, and once docked in Zadar, we'll join our included transfer to Croatia's largest National Park; Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Plitvice Lakes National Park was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979 and contains 16 terraced lakes, and the largest waterfall in Croatia – Veliki Slap.

Today's hike will take us through this natural wonderland, across terraced lakes and past impressive waterfalls.

The included transfer will return guests to the ship in Zadar, where you can take in a famous sunset and wander the cobbled streets of this cosmopolitan town.

DAY 4 HIKE

SUMMARY

This morning we will cruise past St. Nicholas Fortress on the way into Sibenik, a defensive structure that was used during both the 16th and 17th Century. Sibenik is well known for the UNESCO-protected cathedrals and structures which adorn its impressive Old Town, and today, you'll get the opportunity to explore these on foot.

Once docked in Sibenik, we'll walk between three of the most impressive and famous cathedrals in Sibenik, taking in the beautiful views of the city along the way.

DAY 5 HIKE

  • Distance: 3.2km
  • Time: 1hr
  • Ascent: 115m

SUMMARY

Today we cruise from Sibenik to Skradin, where we hike through the Krka National Park, taking in its stunning waterfalls and impressive river systems.

Once we've explored the National Park on foot, you'll have the opportunity to discover the many wooden bridges along or over the waterfalls, visit the museum and discover the local flora and fauna found within the park.

We will return to the port of Skradin where the ship will overnight.

DAY 6 HIKE

  • Time: 3hrs
  • Descent: 53m

SUMMARY

We’ll depart the port early in the morning and sail back toward the historically rich city of Split, where we will explore the fascinating Roman Diocletian's Palace and Marjan Hill on foot.

This evening, enjoy your last meal together with your fellow travellers, taking in the vibrant city of Split at night.
