Firstly I would like to point out I have absolutely no issues with the staff whatsoever - they each deserve 5 stars as they were all so welcoming and helpful throughout the trip. Special mention for Marin, the best host we could have asked for arranged some great nights and made sure everyone was included. My main issue was that the week was poor value for money, the food was ok but I have to mention the BBQ night, 25 euro for what can only be described as a car crash. When I was offered it I was expecting a real bbq on the port but no - the meats (poor quality I’ll add) were grilled in the usual kitchen not on any sort of bbq - genuinely left me feeling ripped off. Drinks on the boat are extremely expensive for what they are, poor quality sprits other than real JD, and still charging full price. Excursions are overpriced we did the canyoning and it was not worth 75 euros at all. Any transfers to ports clubs or bars are always charged and EVERYTHING is cash only - disappointing.

We did a Sail Croatia hike trip. Sail Croatia knew ahead of time some of the people were unable to hike but were interested in the islands we were visiting to see the towns and the history. I would have expected that the coordinators would have given suggestions for things to do and historical information. If you weren't hiking you received limited attention.
- Greggory, 26/09/2024 03:02, Travelled with Friend/s
Sail Croatia needs a boat dedicated to solo only travellers. My experience was fun and thoroughly enjoyed it although it was somewhat difficult to socialize with others as they were glued to their friend until roughly day 5 where everyone started to branch out and really connect as a group.

A. Make aircondition in cabin to work. B. Reduce information from the Cycling guide. Too much Information for the next day. C. More time to swim during time on board from one port to another D. We all had electric bikes. The Cycling was shorter Than expected.
- Henning, 09/09/2024 13:46, Travelled with Friend/s
Dear Henning, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely value all input, as it helps us improve and ensure that our trips meet the diverse expectations of our guests. We understand that you felt the cycling routes were shorter than expected and that there could have been more opportunities for swim stops. We aim to balance both activities in a way that suits the varying preferences of our guests, but we appreciate your thoughts and will certainly take them into consideration. Regarding the information provided by the cycle guide, it’s our goal to ensure that all guests have the context and details they need for a safe and enjoyable experience. However, we understand that preferences for information can vary, and we will review how we can provide a balance between giving useful details while not overwhelming our guests. Upon checking our internal reports, there were no reports of issues regarding the air-conditioning in your cabin. We have a rigorous process in place for any issues that arise onboard, which is outlined in your pre-departure information. Following this process ensures that no incident is left unreported and gives us the best chance to resolve this during the cruise for you. Your feedback is invaluable to us so we do thank you for taking the time to provide it. We hope to welcome you back on another adventure soon.
I was told a couple weeks before our sail that unfortunately I was being put in a double bed with another male. I sent several emails back and forth and their response was always “it’s in the FAQs” and they couldn’t help me so bad luck. When I arrived to the ship I found out there was serval couples staying in 2 x single beds so the issue could have been resolved if they actually wanted to. Also they allowed a group of 20 friends/couples to book the ship (40 on the ship) (also a group of 7 so 13 people were strangers) It ruined everyone’s trip because they weren’t there to make New friends they were there to party with old ones and they had the monopoly on every thing in terms of dinners and that. It really ruined the vibe because everyone felt on the outside because they would take over the ship and leave the rest out, we made our own fun but would be nice. Very disappointing overall, the crew and rep were 5 starts but management side before the ship has sailed in the downfall.
- Daniel, 26/07/2024 07:54, Travelled with Friend/s
Thank you for your feedback, Daniel. We are pleased to hear the crew and rep were 5 stars however, we are are sorry to hear that your overall experience did not meet your expectations. As per our email correspondence, our FAQs and ship pages outline that bed configurations on our Navigator cruises can include double beds, and bedding configurations are not guaranteed at the time of booking. We understand how this situation might be disappointing, however, we aim to make this transparent via our website to avoid any disappointment and to set expectations. We also offered alternative cruise dates with waived cancellation fees to accommodate your preferences, but these options were not taken up. All the couples were in double bedded cabins. Regarding the group bookings, we strive to balance the needs of all guests, and we regret that this impacted your enjoyment. We are pleased that the overall customer feedback rating for your week onboard was 4.62/5 stars. Your feedback is important to us, and this is appreciated.
Booked based on Explorer being best suited for couples, young professionals and 'young at heart' travellers. Didn’t expect at 44, to be the second youngest guest, with the majority being 70s. The boat was fine, the bedroom smelled a bit damp and there were broken fixtures in the bathroom. The crew were great, and very friendly. Disappointed the sundeck bar / bbq area wasn’t used. Also, the ‘€25 bbq’ which was cooked in the oven was a poor offering, and unsurprisingly didn’t go ahead. All in all, I had a great time, but had I have been much younger, would’ve been disappointed with so many older guests.
- Jonathon , 18/09/2023 09:23, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Jonathon, Thank you for your feedback. It's great to know that the crew were friendly and welcoming, however we are disappointed to hear the ages onboard were misaligned with your expectations. Our Explorer cruises are designed to offer a diverse and inclusive experience for travelers of all ages over 15 years. Whilst we do attract a wide range of guests, including young professionals and the 'young at heart' travellers, age demographics can vary from one cruise to another. We aim to create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone, and we're glad to hear you had a great time onboard. We'll take note of your comments regarding room conditions and food offerings to further enhance our services, and we appreciate your feedback provided for the onboard meals, rating us 4-5 out of 5 stars, thank you. We hope you'll consider cruising with us again in the future.
A great combination of fun and relaxation. Our vessel was captains by Danny who did an amazing job each day and made the trip that much better. The beautiful beach stops, hanging out with other boats, we’re my favourite. The things that require improvements to me are: Boat had no cooling - on :32 degree days and 26 degree nights there was no way to escape the heat. The boat needs a few upgrades, such as fans in rooms or an air conditioner , the speaker system wasn’t working properly. Then there was the few little things that made it disappointing, such as the sail only was put up once. The activities weren’t something we were made aware of until the last day.. €85 to go on a zip line.. and then all other activities like the punch party - just a cup of juice on the side of the road. The cave party - just a bar in a cave White and blue night - didn’t happen? Other than that, it was great and would recommend it to everyone :)
- Sean, 21/08/2023 03:26, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi there Sean, thank you for your review and for taking the time to provide your feedback on your Flotilla Tour with us this summer, it was a pleasure to have you join us. We are so happy to read you had a wonderful time and you would recommend the tour, this is fantastic! I will be sure to pass your kind words onto Danny. Feedback is important to us, so we do appreciate this from you and it will be passed onto the relevant teams. I believe some inclusions, like the Blue & White Party you may have read on the Navigator Cruise page as this is not an inclusion on the Flotilla Tour. Thanks again for a great week on board.
We though sail Croatia was good value for money but later found better boats for way cheaper. Disappointed in the service, cleanliness and food . Room floor was not washed once, luckily small and washed ourself. , The shower not cleaned once. Had to ask to change the linen, when we were informed that it will be changed on the Wednesday. It was eventually done on Thursday. Food quality of an old age home. Asked for double bed slept on two single beds. Later found that owner of ship children work on the boat. Thats maybe why! Stops on islands was however amazing and Boris / tour operator working for the boat was very helpful and assisting us with places to visit and Restaurants suggestions on the islands. The boat was way more expensive that a big cruise liner and does not justify the cost of this small boat travelling. When we got of the boat there was no farewell greeting by the staff or someone helping with the luggage. 😪😢.
- Pierre, 08/08/2023 15:47, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Pierre, thank you so much for taking the time to review your cruise with us this summer in Croatia. I am quite disappointed to read your review, especially as I can see guests from your week on board provided both positive reviews and feedback of their experience. In saying this, we do appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback and this will be passed on to our Operations Manager in Split, thank you for your points raised.
The Yacht we chose was the cheapest available on the website. Common sense dictates that you are going to receive a lesser quality product. It was also a really hot week with temperatures constantly over 30 degrees. This was outside Sail Croatia's control. The issues were... #1 It is sold as a 7 night charter. Despite what we were told about possible early departure on day one we did not get off the dock until 6pm day one due to the boat not being ready. So day one does not exist. Then, you are expected back by 6pm on day 6 but you don't actually have to be off the boat by 8.30am day 7. In reality it is a 7 night 5 day charter. Disappointing. All charter boats should have bedroom fans. Sleep was impossible in the cabins as it was too hot at night.. 'We bought a fan at a marina. Various other things were disappointing but i only have 200 characters left. Nice people to deal with. Average product. Boat sold as 7 nights which leads you to believe at least 6 1/2 days, not 5 days as it was.
- Simon, 25/07/2023 06:14, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Simon, thank you for taking the time to write your review and provide us with your feedback. We do understand it is very hot in Croatia during the summer, especially during your sail. To help with the summer heat and offer more comfort, we do have in our offer yachts equipped with air-conditioning for travellers who prefer this option. Sea Legend, your chosen yacht as advertised doesn't come with air-conditioning. Check in and check out times are readily available on our website under FAQ's. We advise that early check-in may sometimes become available on the day of check-in if the yacht doesn't need to have any repairs or require additional cleaning from the previous charter. Sadly, early check-in wasn't available on your week. Check-out is at 8:30am on the day of check-out so we ask guests to return the night before to prevent delays with the check-out. Rigorous safety checks, repairs and cleaning must be completed before the yacht is ready for the next guests. This information is clearly outlined in our Booking Terms which must be read and accepted prior to booking. We thank you again for your time, your feedback and for travelling with us.
The ship, crew, tour leader, food etc. was simply awesome. Can’t fault the destinations and sight seeing either. Absolutely stunning. However the booking system needs serious improvement. Large groups are placed on the boat which inherently makes it hard for solo guests to socialise as these groups are generally not as interested to meet new people. It makes solo guests feel awkward and like a ‘spare wheel’. It was clear our tour manager could see this occurring. It would be far better if solo guests or small groups be placed together, and Sail Croatia would have known these groups were on the ship with me. Pretty disappointed I wasn’t given the option to even downgrade vessel, if that meant I could be with more ‘like-minded’ travellers or guests. I’m going to find it difficult to recommend to others who are solo travelling as well….Coupled to this when placed in a room with a complete stranger, give each guest a key. If either guest wants to do different activities, makes things awk.
- Thomas , 17/07/2023 05:19, Travelled Solo
Hi Thomas, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review and your constructive feedback. It is wonderful to read that the ship, the crew, your representative and the sights and sounds of visited destinations didn't disappoint. Your feedback regarding having 2 x sets of keys per cabin is very welcomed and has been passed on to our Operations team and the Captain. Regarding the mix of travellers onboard your cruise, our cruises aren't specifically sold or booked as solo traveller cruises and everyone is welcome onboard. The final mix of travellers is inevitably dependent on any bookings that we receive and I can see we did have some other solo travellers booked apart from yourself. We are sad to hear that the overall mix wasn't to your expectations and satisfactions, however, it is great to see that overall, based on your submitted feedback, you would still recommend us. Thanks again for joining us this season!
The whole system was set in place to take money off people, the day trips were more expensive with the boat then they were if you organised it for yourself! The drinks were too expensive, the captain didn’t allow anything to be brought in the boat. Air con was not included and when paid for it didn’t work properly 75% of the time, we missed the best parts of Croatia and weren’t told about them because the day trips weren’t informative about anything! I would never recommend doing sails to anyone. I was disappointed with everything to do with the trip except our lovely crew member, Ioana! She was the only good thing to come out of the trip, she needs a raise! The food was good.
- Jack, 05/07/2023 10:58, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Jack, thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding your recent Sail Croatia - Hideout Cruise. I will be sure to pass your comments and kind words regarding Ioana onto the team, she will be so pleased to hear this, so thank you for your kind words here. It is wonderful to also read you were happy with the food served on board. We are disappointed to hear that your experience did not match those of your fellow travellers onboard. I have checked the feedback collected for this departure, and we have received 5 Stars across both of our ships that departed on the Hideout Cruise. Our Standard and Ensuite ships have fans inside the cabins for additional ventilation and are more suited to the budget conscious traveller. For guests that prefer air-conditioning, our Premier ships are guaranteed to have AC in all cabins. The differences in ship categories are available on our website prior to booking with us. We have a comprehensive process in place to address any issues that may arise during your time onboard the cruise - this is provided via your pre-departure information and reiterated in the Welcome Speech. Our representatives are there to assist you with any concerns or challenges you may encounter. However, if you feel that your issue was not adequately resolved, we encourage you to escalate it to our Operations Manager and/or Managing Director. They will ensure that your concerns are thoroughly addressed and appropriate actions are taken. Thank you, Cayley.
I enjoyed my time but was it worth the amount of money I spent? No way, could’ve had a much better time spending less money doing something different. Obvious attempts to make extra profits left a sour taste. Drink prices on board were similar to a bar and lot’s of people found discrepancies between what they were charged and what they ordered. Nearly everyone just drank offshore towards the end of the cruise. The BBQ dinner was the most obvious sign of taking our cash. Charging us 25 Euro’s for a BBQ and offering no other alternative for dinner since we were out of port was shocking. Was just very average food so reckon it cost about 10 euro’s per person. Some other compulsory charges like the tourist tax should’ve just been included in the initial price anyway, if we 100% have to pay it then why exclude it from the initial price?
- Anonymous, 05/07/2023 07:57, Travelled Solo
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and provide us with feedback. It is great to hear you enjoyed your time onboard our Navigator cruise. We strive to ensure accurate and transparent billing for all our guests when it comes to the bar tab. You are also welcome to ask for a daily tally of your tab as one can easily lose track of what has been consumed during the week. Regarding the pricing, Croatia has only recently adopted Euros as a currency and we are going through a phase of adjusting the local pricing. We are sorry to hear you didn't find the BBQ to be of good value. Please rest assured your feedback has been passed to the Captain. All local tourist tax is payable locally rather than packaged in a price of the holiday. You will find this is a standard practice across the industry in various destinations and not just Croatia. Thank you again for your feedback and do come and see us again!
Compared to recent cruises in the region, the food quality and choice offered was poor and repetitive. Bar closed too early in the evening. Pillows in the room were substandard and uncomfortable. Often had bad drain smell in cabin. The Tour Guide, Stjephan, was outstanding and the rest of the crew very good.
- Brian, 13/06/2023 06:23, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Brian, thank you for your review and for joining us in Croatia this season. I am sorry to hear we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Please be assured that your feedback is very important to us and your remarks will be passed onto the relevant team so that improvements can be made. Thank you for this and also for your kind words on Stjepan, I will be sure to pass this along to him. Thank you!
I would like to suggest that you don’t start your cruise season while the islands are still closed and not much open. The bar staff should also understand how to make drinks if have them on the list of drinks. May yea and coffee should be free all day ( not a big cost to you )We had a good cruise besides these minor things.
- Martin, 20/05/2023 13:00, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Martin, thank you for taking the time to review your Elegance cruise with us this season. Your feedback is very important to us, so we appreciate that you have taken the time to write to us with your suggestions. There are many benefits to travelling to Croatia outside of peak season in April and May, including cheaper cruise and flight prices, as well as fewer crowds of tourists - this is usually down to personal preference. I will be sure to pass your comments regarding drinks onto the relevant team, thank you for bringing this to our attention and we are pleased that you had a good time. Thank you!

- David , 26/09/2022 05:55, Travelled with Friend/s
Thank you for your comments here David, these will all be taken onboard and we hope you enjoyed all other aspects of your cruise.
The ship staff and quality of service is not what we experienced on our period 2 trips with sail croatia. 1. Rooms, bed comforters were just placed on beds. There were never completely done up with pillows, 2 of the days we’re not even done, mirror was dirty for the week. 2. Bar service was poor, common drinks were never made properly. Previous trips with sail croatia, a glass of wine was served with lunch. 3. We received a nice bottle of champagne since it was out 3 rd trip. We don’t drink champagne so we asked them to deliver it to a newlywed couple on the boat. It was never done. We asked what happened to the bottle, it was then delivered 4 days later. 4. Food quantity and quality was poor, always ran out of fruit for breakfast and salad for lunch. When asked if they had any more salad they said it was all gone, 5. Final Bill, They added a $200 kuna ($30Us) charge to reprogram the key that never worked. After arguing with them they reversed it.
- Stan, 16/09/2022 08:47, Travelled with Friend/s
Thank you for your review Stan, we value your feedback as a 3rd time devoted Sail Croatia guest. On our Elegance cruises we offer daily cabin service with mid-weekly linen change. If you ever need any additional cleaning, the crew are always more than accommodating. I have checked our internal reports and can't see that this was raised with any of our crew members or Onboard Representative to get this resolved for you. In regards to the meals, the chef is more than happy to provide more servings upon request. We are pleased to hear that the key was resolved and that the bottle of champagne was gifted to the newly wedded couple. We appreciate all your comments here Stan and we hope that these issues didn't detract from your overall enjoyment onboard. Thank you.
1. The Dalmation coast is superb and made the trip worthwhile. The friendly crew and spectacular destinations made up for a lot of daily flaws. 2. Food is 2 out of 5 at best. There were times were we ate mediocre food on the boat while docked at a port with great restaurants. 3. Too many stops for swimming off the boat when there's a beautiful beach in sight, just out of reach. Also, when there was a beach stop, it was usually around 45 minutes - what good is that? 4. When cycled right past many points of spectacular scenery that would have been nice to soak in and maybe take a picture or two. When we did stop, it was usually a baren intersection or a town that wasn't as nice a town we sped thru. 5. The bathrooms below deck smelled of sewage. I know the crew must have know this as there were air fresheners in the bathrooms to mask the smell. 6. The trip really ends a day early, on Friday afternoon when the boat arrives in Split and the crew starts closing up.
- Dignan, 30/08/2022 13:26, Travelled with Friend/s
Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the Dalmatian Coast, friendly crew and the most beautiful destinations along the way. However, we are disappointed to hear you were unhappy with some aspects of the cruise including the food, swim stops and cabin. Our chefs aim to prepare fresh meals using local produce each day out of their small gulleys, we understand that this is not to everyone's taste. Having a look at the feedback rating for the meals served, the average rating is 4 stars. The ships anchor out at secluded bays for each swim stop which means we are unable to moor into beaches as this would require authorisation from port authorities and generally, ships would need to be moored into the approved docks. However, beaches are easily accesible from most islands for you to enjoy once you arrive at your destination. The swim stops are planned out each week, however we hope that you enjoyed some of the islands you passed. Upon request, the Captain may have been able to stop momentarily for pictures. We are sorry to hear you experienced some issues with the smell in your cabin. We have a rigorous process in place for such issues and if raised with the Onboard Representative, this will be resolved immediately. Upon checking our internal records, I cannot see that this was reported to our team onboard. The cruise ends at 8:30am on the Saturday. Thank you again for your review and we do hope that the flaws mentioned did not detract from your overall lovely experience.
- facilities on the boat were well below par. - representative did not get involved with the clientele on the boat - ratio of boys : girls was absolutely out of balance. Will not be recommending this , very unfortunate
- Charlie, 27/07/2022 05:41, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Charlie, thank you for your review. I can see you booked our Navigator cruise on a Standard ship, which is our most cost effective and budget travel option. Having a look at the feedback for your Onboard Representative, they received all 5 star ratings. The balance of genders depends customer demand for any given ship, and is unfortunately outside of our control. We aim to get a good mix onboard taking into consideration age, gender, nationality and group makeup. This heavily depends on who has booked. I can see that all guests that provided feedback for your week would recommend us to others. We are sorry to hear you won't be recommending us in future. Thank you again for providing us with your review.
More ventilation for the rooms particularly the ones located below deck. Food provided was not great. Placed with a more suitable group of people closer in age and relationship status.
- Andrew, 22/07/2022 10:58, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Andrew - thank you for your review. We appreciate your comments in regards to the ventilation. I can see you booked our Premier ship which includes air-conditioning, ensuite and spacious cabins. Our chefs aim to provide a variety of meals using fresh local produce, whilst we understand this is not to everyone's individual taste, we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with the meals served and your comments will be passed on to the Operations Team. We aim to get a good mix of travellers onboard our boats, taking into consideration age, gender, nationality and group makeup. However, this can vary and heavily depends on who has booked for any given departure. Thank you again for your review!

With a backdrop as beautiful as Croatia its hard to go wrong. Yet, this wasn't smooth sailing. Maybe it was the fact I had such high expectations from the glowing reviews that Sail Croatia gets, but the tour just felt extremely disorganised. We had a very lacklustre tour manager that did very little to hype up the mood and bring the group together. There was also A LOT of wasted time on the boat. SC markets these gorgeous daily swimspots; reality was not this with spots in random locations overlooking roads and deserted housing. We spent 4-5 hours each day anchored in the one spot rather than seeing the actually towns/islands marketed. The tipping point being the 'Day trip' to Mljet. We anchored near Mljet at 9am and didn't port at the park till close to 2pm, where we were then told to be back at the boat by 4pm. This left about an hour to explore! After completing many organised tours in the past, this definitely has turned me of organised tours in the future!
- Nick, 11/07/2022 06:32, Travelled Solo
Hi Nick, thank you for your review. We agree - Croatia is absolutely gorgeous and we are pleased you enjoyed your time. We pride ourselves on providing local guides that have a wealth of knowledge and are passionate about their country and culture. Having a look at the ratings for your Onboard Representative, he had received all 4-5 star ratings for your week, which includes organisation, friendliness and information. We appreciate your 4 and 5 star feedback rating and we are sorry to hear of your disappointment here. Our Captain chooses a variety of secluded bays to swim in, for the enjoyment of all guests. I understand that there were some issues with the anchor for one day in Mljet, and whilst this was being rectified, there were complimentary drinks provided and all guests were happy with the resolution. You remained in Mljet overnight until the next morning. We do hope that the issues experienced didn't detract from your overall enjoyment Nick. We do hope to have you join us again in the future.
The main thing I would change would be the tour guide. He was a very nice person but brought no energy or people skills to the group. Sometimes when we were asking him stuff it was like trying to draw blood from a stone. His answers were always “I don’t know I’ll ask the captain” lucky our group was very independent and we managed to find our own things to do and entertain ourselves. The aircon on the boat was very poor and j was disappointed at the boat crew handing us the review form on their iPad telling us we need to give them a 5 star review and then leaving an envelope in our rooms for tips. I had higher expectations as I heard a lot of good things and but it’s if I wasn’t b a problem
- Chris , 27/06/2022 01:54, Travelled Solo
Hi there Chris, thank you for your review. We hope you enjoyed your time in Croatia and got to immerse yourself in the country and culture. We are disappointed to read your comments regarding the Tour Guide, as we pride ourselves on having the best, local, friendly and knowledgeable Tour Guides onboard all our ships. Upon checking our feedback for this week, your rep received mostly 5 star reviews with 1x 4 star review. The boat you were on was Ensuite which doesn't include air-conditioning. It is at the Captain's discretion whether this is turned on, we are pleased he included this free of charge. We encourage our guests to provide us with their honest review and tipping is completely at guests discretion. ,We are disappointed to learn that you felt pressured to provide this - your comments will be passed on to the Operations Manager. Thank you again for all your comments, we hope this didn't detract from your overall experience in Croatia.
The tour was incredibly poorly organised. The company completely fail to train their staff in how to deal with any form of issue outside of the schedule. This included no solution to cancelled trips, no ability to deal with onboard conflicts and issues, and making consistent promises that were not delivered. I did a Topdeck tour at half the price 3 years ago, and I would suggest it is a much better option than this. Sail Croatia failed on every front. The only exception to this was the crew and captain, who made the tour more tolerable.
- Dominic, 06/06/2022 05:24, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi Dominic, thank you for your review. We are pleased to know that the captain and crew were available onboard however, we are sorry to hear of your disappointment with the organisation onboard. We do have processes in place for dealing with any issues that arise and this is found onboard the cruise, in your pre-departure information and via our app. The first step is to contact your onboard representative, you can then escalate to the Operations Manager and if need be, the Managing Director. We pride ourselves on having knowledgeable, friendly and helpful representatives who share their passion for their country and culture. Having checked our feedback for the organisation of the cruise, I can see that most of our guests provided 5 star ratings. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed and we hope that this didn't detract from your overall enjoyment of Croatia as a whole. Thank you.
The boat. Outdated, cramped, badly ventilated in the downstairs cabin. Cupboard space inadequate for two people as there was no shelving. Dining room space just coped. Crockery inadequate with just one cup per person and some had chips out. Insufficient glasses for morning juice. Breakfast was a race as there limited yogurts, fruit drinks, poor choice of cereal, very poor coffee, real milk not always available. Main leader was disorganised speaking before all holiday members were there so it became. Chinese’s whispers to find information. Meeting times announced were not kept to by leader and he would start early. Boat left port before announced times. I could go on.

Hi there and thank you for your review. We are really sorry to hear you were disappointed with your accommodation for the week. Our lovely Tuna crew are highly experienced, completing numerous Cycle cruises over several years and I understand that our crew and representative did everything possible to ensure all guests were comfortable and enjoying their cruise experience so we are disappointed to read your comments here. In regards to breakfasts, additional supplies can of course be provided upon request, also we are sorry to hear that the crockery was not of standard - we will pass this on to our relevant departments, thank you.
More thought taken into who should be in the groups. Our boat consisted of 4 groups of people. One group of 15 boys from Sydney who we never saw come out of there rooms, a group of 7 from Sydney and only 2 groups of 2. Of that 85% male and everyone was Australian. Couldn’t do many of the group activities because the 2 major groups didn’t want to participate. Whilst everyone was nice, when you have such big groups of prexisting friends it doesn’t create a social atmosphere because people get comfortable in the groups. We also got hyped up for certain nights only to be disappointed, we went to a foam party which had no foam and also nobody else in the club but on that island we found out the next day other travels were taken to clubs that were busy and had great atmosphere’s. We had a change of host in the second day who arrived on the 3rd day. He was better but up until that we had no direction what to expect or what we were doing. I could keep going but not enough letters remaining!

Hi there and thank you for your review. The passengers onboard our boats is heavily reliant on each individuals travel plans, requirements and requests for a particular ship type. On your departure date and Navigator route, we had 1x Standard boat and 1x Ensuite boat. It just so happened that we had two larger groups and 3x groups of two people that requested our Ensuite boat, with more interest from male travellers than female travellers for this particular boat type. As we don't discriminate, all travellers were welcome onboard Lastavica. The two boats on our Northern route cross over with boats on other Navigator routes, as well as boats from other companies, so there is plenty of opportunity to mingle with travellers of all demographics during your week. Looking at the onboard feedback you provided, I see that you rated all aspects of the cruise 5-stars - thank you for this. We appreciate your comments regarding the club organisation, and we will certainly pass this on to the relevant team. We hope that the issues with the genders didn't detract from your overall experience on our cruise and in Croatia as a whole.
Get the boat to go faster so we had more time for swimming or exploring towns More time in Dubrovnik Lose the traditional band at the captains dinner, it's not 1975. Last port Marananga was hopeless. Beaches were crowded and no atmosphere. Go to an island instead Food was okay, wine over priced and not good quality. Consider getting wine from other countries Boat was excellent, rooms were well maintained Cruise manager often had inaccurate and out of date information

Thank you for your review. It's nice to hear that you found the boat excellent and the rooms well maintained, however we are sorry to hear your disappointment with some aspects. We try to get the balance just right so that all guests are catered for which involves having enough time at both land and sea and giving guests the opportunity to partake in our amazing swim stops. We find that the traditional band has been a welcomed inclusion for past cruises which our guests enjoy. Upon request, our crew can try and source a particular beverage if this is not available onboard. We aim to provide the best Cruise Managers that are informative and friendly, we appreciate your comments here and this will be passed on to the Operations Manager for improvements. Thank you.
Staff were incredible, but to many issues happened on the boat. Generator was down for days, the chef cut his leg open and was unable to cook. Amongst a lot of other issues.

Hi there and thank you for your review. We are really pleased to hear that the staff were incredible and we are glad to see your 5-star feedback rating on all aspects of the cruise, thank you! We understand that there were a few issues onboard which were immediately resolved by the crew. Thus being the generator being down for 24 hours, and I understand all guests enjoyed a free BBQ onboard for the inconvenience. The chef was unable to cook mid-way through the cruise due to the his injuries however, was still involved in the food preparation. Thank you.
I would like to send an email to fully explain my thoughts, however there were a number of events that detracted from my experience. Please note that the crew Bruno, Boris, Hichela, Marko, Karlo and Mate were fantastic in their efforts to solve the issues, and were extremely professional and dedicated to their jobs. When Mate injured his foot, the remainder of the crew were forced to cook, meaning the food quality decreased slightly (not their fault - they’re not chefs) and they couldn’t focus on their primary role. I was disappointed that Sail Croatia did not send a replacement chef or waitress to help. Secondly was a power issue cause by operator error, but again, I saw this as Sail Croatia’s mistake in not correctly training their crews or familiarising them with the ship. I still had a fantastic week (because of the crew and locations) but was disappointed with the lack of support from your company. Our crew were fantastic, but your company could use some improvement.

Thank you for your review and your email with additional comments, this is appreciated. We are pleased to hear that the crew and your representative were fantastic with their efforts and were professional at all times. However, we are sorry to hear of your disappointment with some aspects. I have spoken with the representative Boris and he has confirmed that on day 3 of your cruise, chef Mate was unable to continue his role as head chef due to injuries. Given that it was such short notice, the captain was unable to obtain a chef replacement. However, the Captain then stepped in to resume this role with the chef assisting with the food preparation for the remainder of the cruise. I've had a look at the issues regarding the generator onboard and can see that this has been recorded via our internal records. I understand that the generator was down for 24 hours and that all guests received a free BBQ onboard due to this human error made by one of the crew, which has been followed up. We hope that these issues didn't detract from your overall experience, and we thank you again for bringing this to our attention via email, so that we could address them directly with you.
Comparing Sail Croatia to 2 other Adriatic cruises on small ships Windstar & Variety at similar cost it would only take a little tweaking to improve “brand” Olimp is a nice new boat with good lower deck cabin size and bathroom. Just 1 hour turnaround between weekly cruises means cleanliness suffers. Acoustics inside dining room had many battling to have a round table conversation and overall food quality competed with onshore Restaurant visits and came second place for most meals unfortunately . Swim stops vs onshore free time compared poorly with Variety cruises program and if I’m being cynical might have something to do with reducing Port Charges and berthing effort same as Windstar. No other cruise at $900/nt fails to put a bottle of water in a cabin with “non potable” sign .Ondeck water cooler ineffective .Toiletries limited to liquid soap pump on wall only . Towels thin scratchy and old . Antonio great - ,issues raised on day 1 Head office ostrich attitude Sad

I want to thank you for your feedback, we do really appreciate this as this enables us to improve for the future. We're pleased to hear you liked Olimp and were happy with the size of the Lower Deck cabins and the ensuite also. Looking through our cabin feedback for Olimp from your departure I can see here that we have been rated 5 stars throughout for cleanliness. Your comments have been passed onto our Operations manager so that we can make the necessary improvements for the future. As the ships are small with very limited storage space on board it is not possible to have bottled water on board for the cabins, I'm afraid. We are also working towards eliminating single use plastics on board, implemented in 2017, we removed all included water bottles from our fleet (prior to 2017, each guest received 2 x water bottles daily), and replaced each ship with water coolers, promoting guests to bring their own reusable water bottle onboard. For this reason we also have refillable soap dispensers in the bathrooms rather than single use shampoo and conditioner bottles. We try our best to aim for a good balance of relaxing and exploring and a lot of reviews we receive do say that we often get the balance right. I'm sorry to hear you were not happy with the times spent at swim stops versus ashore. I have passed your comments here onto our Operations Manager. We do appreciate you as a valued customer of ours and are glad the issues raised did not deter you from having a great time on board.
larger cabin without bunkbeds Provide evening meals instead of lunch only
- Colin, 27/05/2019 05:37, Travelled with Friend/s
Hi there and thanks for your review. We hope you enjoyed your time on our cycle cruise. I can see that you booked a cabin on our Ensuite ship which is equipped with a mix of bunk and double beds. On some days, dinner may be provided instead of lunch if this fits in better with the day’s itinerary – the guide will always advise during the week. Thanks again!
The boat and crew were fantastic, but unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the age group of travellers on board. There were a large number of older travellers when I was hoping to mix and mingle with travellers around the same age in the 20-40 age group. The trip is marked for couples, young professionals, young at heart. Unfortunately there were too many 'young at heart' and couples on board for my liking. I would recommend doing a Navigator cruise instead with a Premier boat. On the plus side our guide Ivana was amazing and we had a Sail Croatia photographer with us for the week (still waiting for the pictures though which are overdue),

Thank you for your review. We’re so glad to hear that overall you had a wonderful time onboard your Explorer Cruise, and that you were well looked after by the crew and your Tour Manager. We’re sorry to hear that the age range onboard didn’t meet your expectations. Our Explorer Cruises are perfect for travellers that wish to explore, socialise and experience Croatia at its finest, and we often find a mix of couples, young professionals and young at heart travellers onboard. Please keep an eye on the Sail Croatia Facebook page, where all images from the 2018 season will be published.
Had a great time on board. Great staff great other guests. Cuisine provided was a total let down unfortunately. Everything else happy with.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you had a great time and enjoyed the company of the other guests and crew on board. Thank you for your valuable feedback in regards to the cuisine, this will be passed onto the crew on board. We hope to see you on another cruise with us in the future.
Croatia is amazing! We did Split to Dubrovnik

The crew were all excellent, serving breakfast and an evening meal instead of lunch and dinner and having more time at each destination rather than docking at 2pm. Breakfast could be improved by serving fresh juices and fresh fruit salad. But overall it was very enjoyable, the Staff and the hostess were all excellent.

Booking process should show availability. You select a cruise that you want and it shows as available only to get an email shortly after that that boat/cabin is not available. I booked late, under the impression that there were heaps of spots remaining as the website said so only to end up in the worst room on the worst boat. No big deal in the end but annoying. Zero attempt by Sail staff to get everyone introduced together. Unfortunate weather meant we had to divert first night, no ones fault. Swim stops were few and far between, other ships seemed to have a lot more in better locations. missed the second last stop because of weather and went straight to dubrovnik. Weather was blue skies and no wind, I heard its because the boats don\'t want to pay docking fees. Staff very friendly. Food was actually good on boat, recommended restaurants were awful. Drinks wayyy to expensive, should be on par with mainland $5 AUD for a beer is a bit much for young people. Still fun.

Hi there, thank you for your review regarding your Navigator Split to Dubrovnik cruise. It is great to hear that you found the crew friendly, you enjoyed the food on-board and that you had fun on your cruise. In regards to availability of our cruises, our prices don't reflect availability and this is noted under the pricing grid for each cruise. We prefer to speak with our customers and we feel by doing so, adds value to their experience with us, and enables us to assist them in finding the best suited cruise for them. In the case of bad weather, or even the chance of bad weather, the Captain may have to alter the itinerary and will visit a different island and port, to ensure the guests are safe yet still get to experience Croatia. I can assure you this has nothing to do with avoiding port fees as pricing is similar at all ports. At the time of docking, the weather may seem to be perfect however, in the early hours this can change drastically and the captain will be aware of this hours in advance. In ports such as Hvar where it is quite open and susceptible to rocky seas if a storm strikes the captain may decide to dock at Stari Grad where the port is fully protected. As the boats will be docked for around 12 hours, for the safety of our guests he will decide to dock at the safest port possible that offers the most protection from stormy weather. In regards to the swim stops, when possible, the Captain will stop to give guests a chance to swim, however this depends on the weather and the scheduling of the ship. I am sorry that this wasn't communicated clearly to you when on-board. In regards to the drinks prices, these do vary and range from 1.96EUR ($2.60AUD) to 2.60EUR ($3.50AUD). Thank you again for taking the timing to let us know about your experience.
Croatia... you cant go wrong with this place, the water the cities, the people, the parties and the weather is amazing!!! However, I think the organisation and timing of the port visits could be better. I did Split to Dub and our second port (which was apparently amazing) we missed due to doing the first excursion "Rafting". well the "Rafting" was more like a 3-4 hour paddle down a river, wayyyy to long and I wouldn't recommend doing. Other ports like Hvar would have been better if we didn\'t have to leave so early in the morning so we could take in all the night life. Further to Hvar, Sail Croatia should also try sort out tables at Hula Hula. The place gets busy and when we arrived we couldn't get a spot to sit and enjoy.

Thanks for your feedback on your Navigator Split to Dubrovnik cruise. We are happy to hear you enjoyed Croatia as a whole, enjoyed the weather, parties, cities and people! We are sorry to hear you missed out on the second destination Makarska due to partaking in the Rafting excursion. We do mention on our Excursions page that the Cetina River Rafting is not extreme and is suitable for beginners and those of Intermediate experience. One of the highlights of our Split to Dubrovnik route is that you get the opportunity to spend two nights on Hvar Island, (Stari Grad and Hvar). We don't have a partnership with the popular Hula Hula Bar as they are an independent company however, this is something to look into - thank you for your comments on this.
The room that I got was on the ensuite boat downstairs. Unbearable. Was so so hot down there, get no breeze through the hallway door, and when I opened the outside window a wave came in soaking my bed and ruining my phone. If your going to have rooms like this you need to make sure that the aircon on the boat works and if it doesn't work, get it fixed. I got really sick from this week due to lack of sleep and sleep in a saltwater soaked bed. Food was good, crew was good, activity options were good
- Nathan, 10/08/2016 04:32, Travelled Solo
Hi there and thanks for your feedback. We are pleased to hear the food on-board was good as well as the optional activities and crew - we will pass your comments on to them. In regards to the Lower Deck cabins, at times the rooms can become hotter during peak months. We advise, when safe, to open your port hole for ventilation whilst you are in your cabin to let air-flow through. As you booked an Ensuite Lower Deck cabin, we provide a fan in each of our Ensuite cabins as air-conditioning is not included on this boat type, (it is included on our Premier and Premier Plus boats). We are sorry to hear about the soaked bed. We have rigorous procedures in place for any issues that arise on-board our cruises, which is included in the pre-departure information emailed to you before the cruise and is outlined at the welcome speech. The first step is to communicate with the crew. If this does not resolve the issue, the second step is to contact our representative in which case we log this in our central reporting and manage the issue onboard until it is fully resolved and customers are happy. We also supply the contact details for our Operations Manager and Managing Director in the unlikely event you are disatisfied with any response from our team members. This procedure does then give us the opportunity to resolve an issue during the trip and follow up or check historical issues.I have searched our records and cannot see that you had reported this to a member of staff. Had this been reported, we would have rectified the bedding situation immediately. We are happy that you had a good trip overall and thank you for providing feedback.
One hell fun week on a boat - what more can you ask for! Only thing was that it was advertised as having air con, yet apparently it didn't work. It was so hot to the point that no one could sleep - basically had to drink ourselves silly to get an hour or two of sleep in before you become drenched. Made everyone ill and somewhat crazy! Anyways, ignoring that, so sick and full of good times!! The food will impress you! I would go for premium boats if you like sleep.... but lesser if you want to rage everyday. Thankgod for Marco, the sickest captain on Sail Croatia! Maria Mag

Hi - thanks for your feedback on our Navigator Return cruise. It's great to hear you had a good time on the cruise and found the food impressive. We will pass your comments on to captain Marco! In regards to the cabins on-board our Ensuite boat, air-conditioning is not included on this boat type. This is included on our Premier and Premier Plus boats and we recommend booking these boat types if you would like an air-conditioned cabin. Thanks again for your feedback and hope to have you join us again in the future.
