Stylish way to see Croatia

Sailed on the Olimp from Split to Dubrovnik and back. It was great to visit some smaller destinations. We were extremely well looked after by all the crew. A special mention has to go to our guide Ioana who brought her energy every day.

Enjoyed the Cruise

The other passengers were lovely and kind. The staff were very professional and helpful. Ivana was a brilliant Tour Manager too.

Fabulous

We travelled up the Croatian Coast in Oct. 2024. The trip was simply terrific. The itinerary was first rate, the crew could not do enough to accommodate us, the ship was beautiful, and the food was better than restaurants. Overall we are recommending this type of travel, with Sail Croatia, to all of our friends.

Memorable holiday

The ship was comfortable and quite luxurious. Staff were very helpful and always pleasant The food was excellent. Congratulations to the chefs The cabin was cleaned daily and towels and bedding changed. Well done to the maid The captain changed the route when necessary to enjoy a safe venue and sheltered areas to swim. Being able to use the drop down platform enabled me to enjoy the daily swim stop. I would not have been able to do the swimming without it. Captain and crew did everything to enhance our experience. The travel guide V was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and friendly with a great sense of humour. All in all a very positive and memorable trip. I woul highly recommend this trip to anyone. Thank you Sail Croatia and staff of Olimp.

Sail Croatia Olimp

1. The wifi should work better. 2. For the price of the trip, I expected that we would have access to a good coffee machine 24/7. The urns provided were not satisfactory. 3. The excursions were overpriced. 4. The “included” tour of Dubrovnik should have included a bus to take passengers to the old town. 5. There should be enough treats during the coffee and tea hour (11-12) so everyone has a chance to get a snack. 6. The staff were friendly. 7. The boat was well kept. 8. Our rooms were kept clean. 9. The price of wine (bottles and glasses) were overpriced. 10. The captain’s dinner was very nice. It would have been better if wine was included.

Ceira, Sales Rep at Sail Croatia replied 2024-10-17:

Hi there, thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the friendly staff, cleanliness of the ship, and the Captain’s Dinner. However, we are sorry to hear of your disappointment with some aspects. In regards to the Wi-Fi, it is subject to download limits and coverage can be inconsistent while out at sea. We aim to provide as much informaiton for the excursions offered and details are transparently outlined on our website. We appreciate your comments on the coffee machine. Coffee and tea is available during saloon hours, with additional snacks upon request. We strive for competitive drink prices and appreciate your suggestion of including wine with the Captain’s Dinner. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate all your comments, thank you.

Best Vacation in a Long Time!

Not sure where to even start - we had smiles on our faces from the moment we were greeted by our cruise rep for the trip, Vedran. He made us feel welcome and we knew we were in a fabulous trip! The staff of 7 (not including Vedran and Captain Gordan) did everything they could to make our 7 days the best they could ever be. Everyday we went to a new island full of beauty unlike anything we've ever seen! Vedran gave us some much education, information and recommendations at each location which was extremely helpful! His passion for Croatia is infectious! Our room was cleaned every morning by sweet Ella (a thank less job but very appreciated). Our room was very comfortable - we opted for a room on the lower level and it was perfect! The chefs - Frane and Ana, created a lovely breakfast and delicious, large lunches every day and they were great! Our waiters/baretenders - Tomo and Pamela - were so professional and so fun to get to know. I miss everyone so much! Until next time.

Esperanza

Mia, the team leader, and all of the crew. Together with the captain the made the whole experience. The captain navigated to ensure we missed nothing on our itinerary. We are looking to book another cruise next year.

Esperanza Dubrovnik return

Honestly every member of the staff was friendly and welcoming. Karolina was amazing and so warm.. we happened to board with a fantastic group of travellers all very kind and friendly. The boat is very comfortable and clean. The daily swims and perfect weather the cherry on the top.

Paradise

Beautiful weather, fantastic crew and such a perfect start to our adventure. Couldn’t fault anything

Getaway

I could not have asked for a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. The crew were wonderful, especially the guest co-ordinator Karolina. The boat is beautiful, clean and well appointed. The ports we visited were beautiful and each offered a unique experience. The daily swim stops were stunning and really made each day wonderful. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone needing a break or wanting to see and learn about beautiful Croatia. I hope to come back and do it again.

Most enjoyable cruise

Thoroughly enjoyed cruising the Croatian islands on our Dubrovnik to Split and return to Dubrovnik tour. Each port we stopped at represented a lesson in history. Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour in Split and Dubrovnik with the local guides as well as the fabulous dinner with wine in Stari Grad at a local farm restaurant. Our morning swimming stops were a pleasure and the food served on the boat was divine. But there were negatives: 1. Our lower level cabins were adjacent to the engine room therefore when the boat left port early in the morning, no further sleep or talking could be had. These cabins were priced the same as the forward lower level cabins which seems unfair. 2. No itemised bar bills were provided so you had to assume that what you were billed for, you actually drank. 3. The boats internet was rubbish. 4. When rafted up at port with other boats, crossing over was difficult at times due to the height of each boat I.e. need individual ramps and not step up or down.

- Rosalie, 05/09/2024 14:17, Travelled with Family

Dizare, Sales Rep at Sail Croatia replied 2024-09-19:

Dear Rosalie, Thank you for your detailed review and for sharing both the highlights and suggestions on both of your tours. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the historical walking tours, the fabulous dinner in Stari Grad, and the divine food onboard, as well as the beautiful morning swim stops in lovely secluded bays. We regret to hear that there were some aspects that had an impact on your overall cruise experience. Regarding the noise from the engines, as our ships are small motor cruisers, the engines do make some unavoidable noise when in operation, similar to a running car. We understand this may affect travelers differently, but it is part of the small ship experience. We are pleased to advise that we received a total customer score rating of 4.4/5 for your week onboard. Regarding the bar bill, guests are welcome to request an itemised bill each day to track their consumption. The Wi-Fi can be temperamental as it is subject to download limits and can experience reduced coverage while out at sea. The ramps between boats are designed for ease of movement, but due to the unique designs of each vessel, some variations in height are expected - we appreciate your suggestion of individual ramps. We thank you again for all your feedback and hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

Beautiful ‘Olimp’

Everything about our Elegance Cruise on Olimp was 5 star with wonderful staff, dining and ship facilities. The swim platform on our boat was the best we saw in Croatia. Wouldn’t hesitate to return on another trip.

- Beth, 26/08/2024 07:21, Travelled with Family

Amazing

The Olimp and its crew were amazing, friendly and attentive . The yacht is gorgeous and the whole experience exceeded my expectation. The daily swims were fabulous, the daily lunches delicious and the excursions that Mia recommended were a lot of fun. Fellow passengers were a lot of fun and made it memorable as well. Thanks again to a wonderful captain George, his crew and Mia!! Looking forward to another trip in the future.

- Maria, 23/08/2024 18:21, Travelled with Family

Great Experience

I would have given this experience a 5* as almost everything was perfect with the exception of a few things. Beach towel for one person for the entire week is not acceptable. Changing of the bath towels every few days is also not acceptable. Breakfast time should be longer. Everything else was great !

- Cristina, 20/08/2024 17:31, Travelled with Family

Esperenza Elegance at its best

Everything about this trip was better than I could have hoped for. The boat, the cabins and amenities were excellent. But what made it extra special were the dedicated team onboard who went out of their way to make our holiday a memorable occasion. The cooking was superb, the team serving us were amazing, the captain and crew the best. The swim stops each day were a big highlight and a magical experience. The islands each had their own charm. I felt so well looked after on this holiday. Another bonus was the great mix of similar age groups on the boat. I would definitely recommend this boat and team. A special callout to our Tour Manager, Ioana, who made it all happen, incredible co-ordination and management skills plus a charming personality to match. Great job Ioana and team. Thank you, Sail Croatia, until next time!

Amazing

The trip on the Olimp was an amazing experience, the food, the boat, the staff, the cabins everything was excellent, Also the Sail Croatia staff were very attentive and accommodating right through the booking process

Great vacation

The staff was excellent in every way. The ship was clean and comfortable and the places we sailed to were exceptional.

Delivered as Promised

Cruise delivered as promised, a trip that had something for everyone and we were very happy with our decision to go with Sail Croatia! Vedran, our cruise director kept everything running like clockwork from the airport transfers to the excursions, responding to questions right away and making it all appear effortless though I am sure behind the scenes this was not easy! The other crew were very cheery the entire week and the ship was very clean. The chefs made us custom omelettes each morning for breakfast which were delicious! We also enjoyed getting to know the other travelers on the boat who were very friendly and nice. Would recommend to others looking for this type of experience.

Holiday of a lifetime

Esperanza is a beautiful boat, with excellent crew who were so friendly and attentive in just the right way. My holiday was dreamy, a time to enjoy every moment, it was great fun, full of surprises and all set within the beauty of the Dalmatian Islands. Our guide was great fun and a mine of information, and the food was really lovely. It was nice to escape sometimes to our cool cabin as we travelled through a heatwave. Thank you to everyone who made my holiday so very special.

- Joan, 23/07/2024 18:23, Travelled with Family

Magical Trip with Fantastic Crew

My solo cabin was clean and comfortable, with an outside door to let in the breeze and hang clothes outside. Air conditioning was strong. Food at breakfast and lunch were fantastic and Vedran’s recommendations for dinner and drinks were spot on. The smaller ship allowed us to have magical swim stops every day and explore small islands. Each day varied depending on the island, with some days more chill and others full of sightseeing or hikes. I was traveling solo but we had an incredibly warm and inclusive group of travelers from different generations. The smaller setting and a week together made it easy to connect.

- Evelyn, 23/07/2024 10:09, Travelled Solo

Fantastic

The Esperanza crew were absolutely amazing, Ivana was fantastic at organising all our tours and information for our stops . I would highly recommend this cruise for solo travellers as it is small group and easy to socialise The food was excellent also,

- Lynda, 02/07/2024 09:27, Travelled Solo

A Wonderful Week

Ivana: Great Guide! Professional crew, discreetly watching every detail, even passengers while in swim stops. A lot of hard work behind the scene to ensure that we all had a wonderful time! Congratulations!

An amazing week

Our Sail Croatia trip was the perfect way for my husband and I to holiday with my parents for a week. Our Dubrovnik to Split trip on the beautiful Queen Jelena boat is a trip we will never forget. The staff were amazing, with special mention going to our wonderful host Mia. Mia had 37 passengers to look after, yet made us all feel special and well looked after. We were so lucky to have her as our host. The food was outstanding and the scenery wonderful. Loved our daily swims when our captain found a beautiful spot to anchor up for a few hours. Magic memories made, thank you Sail Croatia.

- Mandy, 02/07/2024 05:13, Travelled with Family

Great but not perfect

The trip was terrific! The guests on board were great and the crew was fantastic. We had so much fun in all the ports except Vela Luca was a terrible port. The wine tasting was mediocre and expensive and the restaurant options and night life there were terrible. Also, the village meal in Korcula was terrible. The town of Korcula was fun with many great restaurants, including a Michelin star restaurant. I would have MUCH preferred to be on my own that night. Lastly, when pulling into Dubrovnik, it would have been nice if the boat passed by the old city before heading to the port.

A 'bucket list' adventure!

Travelling solo for the first time in years was always going to be an adventure but I knew the intimate feel of this holiday would work for me. Lovely fresh food, Vedran our attentive coordinator and the whole crew and guests made me feel very included on this Split North tour capturing so many UNESCO gems. The weather was kind, the sleeping quarters very well sound proofed and the shower fab! My nut allergy was carefully catered for and Stella and Boris' cocktails divine! I didn't turn the TV on once and the walking tours helped me burn off those varied meals prepared by the two chefs. All staff were approachable and took feedback seriously. Krka Falls was so lovely in the last week of May and teeming with wildlife. The swim stops ticked off dolphins, flying fish, 2 species of starfish and sea urchins plus was amazing to see a decent sized octopus and cuttlefish outside of an aquarium. Comparing Olimp to similar vessels we were clearly very blessed! Thank you Sail Croatia!

- Tams, 04/06/2024 18:35, Travelled Solo

Best trip

This was the trip of a lifetime for me. Our boat was a beautiful 100 metre wooden ship and the crew kept it in tip top form. They were very welcoming and happy, and made me feel so comfortable for the whole trip. The food was absolutely the best ever and so beautifully presented. The captain was incredible and so precise with his dockings and the running of his ship. Our host was really fun and, before we went out on an excursion, would fill us in on the history of where we were going and tell what we could do there and where to eat. The lady who looked after our berths was very good and I'd come back to a wonderful and clean room each day. We were very well looked after! The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms with the shower were very roomy! I will sail with Sail Croatia again.

Amazing week!

My sister and I recently had the incomparable pleasure of sailing on the OLIMP with 26 other passengers ,,, I was taken by the brilliance of its design and then realized it reflected the knowledge of 5 generations of captains sailing the Adriatic ~ Captain Juri actually designed this ship as well as expertly held the helm. The food was also nothing short of exceptional ~ especially accommodating my inability to have butter used in any dish ~ The quality of the food and its presentation was the better than any fine dining I have enjoyed on terra firma The entire staff were impeccable in their professional manner of attending to our needs. The morning swimming stops where we anchored in quiet coves was another special highlight as the stern of the ship transformed into a lovely walk into the water platform. The fact that the mornings were spent sailing from island to island, with a swimming stop when possible and our afternoons were our time to explore a new island each day with the extra offering of knowledgable walking tour guides and then enjoying our evening meals in the small destination towns gave us enough time to get the feel and flavour of each separate island. And after seven days on the Adriatic it felt like I had been away for three weeks.

- Jody, 23/05/2024 08:23, Travelled with Family

A perfect vacation!

Sailing on the Queen Jelena through the islands of Croatia was a perfect vacation! The combo of relaxing in the morning as the ship sailed and exploring a new island each afternoon and evening was just what I wanted. The crew were all helpful and couldn't do enough to make us comfortable. The chef, in particular, is to be commended- the food was amazing. Special kudos to Mia who kept us informed about the places we were visiting and had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do.... even after we left the ship. She was our 'Momma Mia'! I highly recommend a Sail Croatia trip.

Best cruise EVER!

My sister and I spent a week sailing on Captain Jure’s Olimp in May 2024 and we had the time of our lives. To begin with, Croatia is stunningly beautiful and the azure waters never cease to amaze. Croatians were all so kind, friendly and fun loving everywhere we went, and this applied to every member of the Olimp’s crew as well. Everything shined throughout the ship, including our stateroom which was clean, comfortable and spacious enough and the bathroom boasted the biggest shower I have ever seen on a ship. I loved the fact our stateroom had multiple power outlets enabling us to charge our devices every day. Dining was always a five star event every day and the chef accommodated for my sister’s food sensitivity each and every meal. And the plated presentations? A work of art! Our Cruise Manager Vedran was largely responsible for the success of our week. Not only was he always well organized and helpful with every aspect of our cruise and excursions, his humour and warm hearted

- Tanya, 22/05/2024 13:16, Travelled with Family

Amazing week

Small group experience on beautiful ship. We had great food,, with allowances made for persons in group with food allergies and vegetarian restrictions. The crew was friendly and we had a great cruise director Mia who kept us organized and had spot on information about our itinerary, options in port. Don’t think we could have had a better week!

- Jan, 21/05/2024 18:26, Travelled with Family

Sail Croatia

Everything about the cruise was wonderful!! The staff were all very attentive and very friendly!! Vedran took great care of us. The food was excellent!! The boat was immaculate!! The rooms were big and well appointed. It was such a fun cruise!!

- Peggy, 16/05/2024 01:26, Travelled with Family

Just the right size group

Our small group of 12 very compatible friends, family and new acquaintances were joined by 10 other people who had signed up separately for Queen Jelena. This small size allowed everyone to easily socialize from meals, to impromptu card games, to dancing to relaxing in different deck areas. The boat is very efficiently designed with a nice amount of room in cabins. I also thought it was a beautiful boat. The crew is friendly. They served wonderful meals and kept the boat meticulously clean. Vicko, the Sail Croatia representative , provided lots of information on Croatia’s history and the history and points of interest for individual island stops. Frane and Teo provided wonderful food, Leo and Tom were delightful and efficient waiters. Gordon ,the captain, and sailors Mateo and Josie provided a good boat experience on the water and during swim stops. Thanks to all for a lovely experience.

- Maryanne , 14/05/2024 17:29, Travelled with Family

Belcher

A beautifully appointed small and elegant ship run by a delightful captain and crew. Tour Guide, Vedran, was always incredibly cheerful and smiling, and worked incredibly hard to keep us happy and things running smoothly, explaining everything beforehand. The accommodation is excellent, shower rooms even b The excursions were very good indeed I enjoyed our trip on Military History and our own guide here was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The wine trip was equally good. Our walking tour of Dubrovnik whetted our appetites and we are determined to return. I found the meals adequate. Some were very good indeed but others not so. The desserts excellent. I was sorry that the fresh fruit for breakfast was not very ripe . I think the bacon and sausages could have been placed on a rack so they were not swimming in fat,. The sliced cheese and cold meats were good, bread and croissants excellent. You have really good bread in Croatia!

- Lenore, 02/05/2024 09:08, Travelled with Family

Absolutely fabulous!

Great crew, tour manager (Vedran), food was lovely, and a great group which made the trip really special. So relaxing, I'll most definitely be booking a cruise in the future. The Queen Jelena is beautiful and so full of character, lower deck room very comfortable, private and quiet. Breakfast could probably be improved - a little "samey" but lunches were delicious, as was the Captain's Dinner, and the village dinner was great fun. I missed Split because of joining the cruise late, but would suggest having more time there (overnight) and having less time in Milna as there was very little there. Also suggest having village dinner somewhere other than Korcula as there are so many dinner options there and perhaps having that dinner in one of the quieter places might work better. And would be good to spread these events over the week rather than 2 nights in a row. Excursions I went on were great - wine tasting in Vela Luka and walking tours in Korcula and Dubrovnik.

Marijana, Sales Rep at Sail Croatia replied 2024-04-30:

Hi there, thank you for your 5-star review. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the islands and found your onboard representative Vedran, to be excellent and that you had a really special experience onboard bonding with other travellers. We value your input regarding breakfast options and will use your comments to ensure a wider variety of options are available in the future. It is great to hear you enjoyed overall food provided and that you have enjoyed the Village Dinner in Korcula. We appreciate your suggestions for an alternative destination for the dinner which have been passed on to our operations team. Your feedback helps us enhance the experience for future guests and is very much appreciated. Thank you once again for choosing Sail Croatia, and we hope to welcome you on board again in the future.

Relaxation and Good Times

The Crew, the boat, the tour guide Ioana! Their attention to detail was top notch! The bar staff kept the glasses flowing in evenings and the crew was always helpful and provided the best care possible. The chef was serving wonderful three course meals that kept you fueled up and ready to go! This was such a relaxing experience, I’d 100% recommend and would do it again in a heart beat and much preferred over a larger cruise line any day! Iona kept us busy with exciting excursions at a leisurely pace. I felt like family with the smaller guest list and make wonderful new friends along the way!

Esperanza Bliss

I had such a great week sailing the Dalmatian Coastline. The crew were incredible as was our tour director, Ivan. We saw so much and had time to wander off to see the wonders on our own. Would definitely recommend for solo and couple travelers.

Queen Jelena

We sailed from the 7th Oct to 14th. The weather was amazing. I was with my 18 year old daughter on Queen Jelena a which had a great mix of ages, as I was concerned it my be a little older group on elegance. The crew and captain were all very helpful and friendly, Stjepan was outstanding guide his knowledge communication skills were tip top and he had a great sense of humour. Thank you

Everything about this cruise was top notch. The captain, the crew and especially our cruise director, Vedran, he was the best. The boat was clean, the food was great, the excursions were perfect. I definitely recommend Sail Croatia to anyone who is looking for a fun vacation.

Esperanza Cruise, September 2023

It was a very nice relaxing (daily swim stops) cruise and the crew was wonderful. Very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Boris our Cruise Director also knew his guests well.. He arranged for several wine tastings and dinner gatherings on various islands instead of the tours and excursions that were scheduled since many of us were not signing up to participate in them. Spending evenings in the towns and tasting local food and wine was very enjoyable. One thing I would suggest a slight alteration on is cutting back on the portions of food for the daily lunch. There was way too much food being served, they could have cut the portions in half for each course and it still would have been enough for everyone. However it was all very delicious and I especially loved the desserts!! I would recommend Sail Croatia to family and friends for a nice cruise vacation to see the coastal islands of Croatia.

Solo in Croatia

overall great cruise format. goods: excellent food - almost too much food. most meals I couldn't finish the main course. very attentive to my food allergies. crew excellent. great service team. accommodations - excellent. room was nice size with plenty of storage. shower/toilet combo was good size and always cleaned. all the stops were fantastic - whether swim stop or port stop. Our guide manager Boris was FANTASTIC. Adapted to our group vibe and adjusted tours and stop recommendations accordingly. I went from D to S --- fantastic option to maximize travel to islands. others: The only land based tour I was a little disappointed with was in Vis. The Vis military tour. We didn't do the subpens, as described. The rest of the tour was fine, but there was too much time spent herding folks to get the full tour. NOT a Sail Croatia tour, but maybe they can pick another provider.

Sail Croatia Review

Excellent trip. The places we've been to never cease to amaze us. The staff are all very polite and friendly. Philip always has a sweet smile and Anna is the same. But Boris stood the most. Any requests my group asked, big or small he made it so easy for us. He is the flavour of our trip. Lots of knowledge to share and made the impossible requests possible. Boris is the man to turn to this making our trip soooo wonderful. We had the best memories and great experiences to share.

Wonderful Holiday!

This was such a fantastic sail thanks to a truly kind and thoughtful crew. The boat was beautiful and clean. The variety of of longe areas was wonderful. The food was delicious and nicely presented. Each island that we visited had something unique and special to offer. Our onboard tour guide, Vedan had us prepared for everything at every island stop. He was a great help and had an easy humour that we all appreciated. Thanks to all at Sail Croatia.
