Navigator Itinerary - Split to Dubrovnik Return

Departure Dates:

Every Saturday
01 May to 09 Oct

Saturday SPLIT - HVAR

sail_croatia_bigjumpDeparture from Split harbour is at 13:00. After lunch onboard the boats we stop for a swim at one of the hidden bays heading towards Hvar. Hvar is the longest island in the Adriatic and one of the best known. The 7th century walls with fortifications towering above the township, fascinating outlying Resin Islands, waterfront restaurants and famous bars make it a popular first night's stop.

We overnight along the town waterfront where we have prime position to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of restaurants and cafes. Climb up to the hill fort to enjoy the magnificent views across the town and outer islands before relaxing on deck sipping cocktails and getting to know your fellow travellers.

Often there are magical sunsets you wish would go on forever and combined with clubs such as Carpe Dieme, Veneranda and the Nautica Bar give those wanting a late night plenty of options to choose from. For couples there are inviting waterfront cafes and pathways leading to secluded local restaurants for a more intimate evening.

Please note - If you miss the departure for any reason there are alternative ferries which depart in the afternoon so you will be able to meet with the boats later in the evening.

Sunday HVAR - TRSTENIK

sail_croatia_bbq2Early in the morning we continue our trip south. Our first stop is in one of the bays near Loviste, on the Peljesac peninsula. After a refreshing swim we continue towards Trstenik considered to be one of the most beautiful and unspoilt traditional villages along the Croatian coast. Trstenik is set along a deep south facing bay which is lined by a pebble beach. The sea here is crystal clear, and is rich in underwater life. The town is a traditional village famous for its wine growing and was built in the late 19th Century as an important harbour for the transportation of grapes from Plejesacs isolated southern vineyards to Italy and beyond.

We overnight here and relax in the tranquil setting whilst our Captain and Crew fire up the onboard BBQ for those wanting dinner onboard the boat.

Monday TRSTENIK – DUBROVNIK

sail_croatia_dubrovnik2After breakfast we depart for Dubrovnik, which will be the highlight of our cruise. There will be time just for a short swim amongst the outlying Elephite islands. Enjoy the beautiful sights of nature along the way as we cruise towards "heaven on earth" - according to the famous writer George Bernard Shaw.

We will arrive in Dubrovnik in early afternoon. Take a walk through the Stradun - both a street and a square, a promenade inside the city walls. The old town was completed in the 13th century and remains virtually unchanged to the present day. For those of you with the energy we recommend a walk on top of the 1,940m long city walls! You will be amazed with hidden gems such as Cafe Buza which sits on the cliff face along the walls where you can sit back and watch the cliff divers jumping off the walls with the sun falling in the background.

Small alleyways hide traditional restaurants with bucket loads of atmosphere. Later in the evening there are plenty of late night hang outs such as the Capitano bar, EastWest Beach Club, Club Fuego and Fresh bar to keep you awake into the early hours.

Optional Activities

  • Dubrovnik Walking Tour (EUR10)

In the middle of the large lake, inside the National park, we can visit the little isle of St Mary, with an ancient Benedictine monastery an old abbey and church dating from the 12 Century, or just use a small boat, kayak, bicycle, scooter or cabriolet to roam around the National Park.

Wednesday MLJET – KORCULA

sail_croatia_mljetAfter a night in Mljet we leave this magnificent island later in the morning and continue our cruise towards the island of Korcula stopping to swim for much of the day. On this island you can find more legends, tales and monuments than anywhere else. Listen to the story of the stone walls, which were being built over two centuries ago.

After dinner you will probably work your way towards the Dos Locos bar and then you can follow the locals onto disco Gaudi inside the old town walls which is open until sunrise. Just don’t miss the boat the next morning!

Thursday KORCULA – MAKARSKA

We spend the afternoon swimming at one of the beautiful bays before arriving into Makarska later in the afternoon. Stroll along the ancient streets and explore numerous churches and other architectural and cultural sights that take your interest.

For anyone needing to burn off some extra calories there is a guided excursion to the top of Biokovo mountains where you can do some hiking, taking in some amazing views and the sunset from the top.

If you are looking at nightlife options there is the cocktail bar Marineta and for late night takers there is the infamous club “Deep” a natural cave next to the sea which booms into the wee hours.

There is an optional river rafting activity after lunch for anyone who wishes to get some action in for the day. Again you will be dropped back in Split later in the afternoon where you will rejoin the boats.

For those staying with the boats we start our journey back to Split and arrive during the late afternoon. Enjoy the view of the Split Riviera as we motor into port.
