Britons keen to save money have been advised to consider Croatia as a possible holiday destination in 2010.This is because the Balkan country is outside the eurozone and, with the single currency continuing to remain at high value, Croatia is therefore a cheaper place to visit, according to Expedia. Jonathan Cudworth, director of product management at the travel company, explained that good currency exchange rates will help UK holidaymakers cut down on costs. "Travel is still a priority, but consumers have become savvier when booking their holidays, shopping around and looking for the best value possible," he said. "As well as looking for a cheap last minute deals, they are recognising ways to keep the overall cost of a holiday down." Last year, a report from Thomson and First Choice suggested that eight in ten Britons will not let the economic downturn affect their plans and will take a holiday in 2010. ![]() |
