 Croatia holidays and other getaways represent the highlight of the year for many British people, according to travelsupermarket.com.Bob Atkinson, a spokesman for the website, said overseas breaks often take precedence over other possible expenses such as new items for the home. Mr Atkinson also pointed out the rising popularity of trips that provide the opportunity to try new and exciting activities, such as sail and cycle holidays in Croatia. "Brits will give up all sorts of things in order to save up and spend on a trip or a series of trips as a reward for working hard during the year," he said. "It gives us the opportunity to rest, relax, party or indulge in our interests, with more and more of us taking activity breaks, whether they are cultural, sporty or family-orientated." According to arecent survey by Travelzoo, more than half (55 per cent) of British people plan to take more Croatia holidays and other breaks in 2010.  |
