of the "jewels" of the Balkan states.This is according to Thomson and First Choice, which has picked the Mediterranean country as one of its top ten destinations for next year. Alongside neighbouring Montenegro, Croatia offers "breath-taking mountainous landscapes, rich green forests and medieval cities", while those wanting to sample the coast can embark on an Adriatic cruise or Croatia sailing experience. Croatia is easily accessible from the UK, with a number of airlines flying to Split, often the starting point for luxury Croatia cruises. According to Thomson and First Choice, Croatia is not one of the "trendiest holiday destinations" for Brits, with the city of Dubrovnik proving another huge draw. The Adriatic coast boasts a mild, Mediterranean climate, with summers tending to be dry and hot and winters mild and wet. Temperatures in August typically range from 22 to 25 degrees C.  |
