People with an interest in contemporary art should remember to pay a visit to Split during Croatia sailing
holidays this month. From September 1st to 30th, the coastal city will host a retrospective dedicated to Nam June Paik, who is described by the Split tourist board as "the fatherof video art". Paik is a Korean-born American artist who is known for his intricate video and light installations, as well as sculptures and sound pieces that have pushed the boundaries of contemporary art. People on Croatia sailing holidays can visit Split to see some of his work in the Dom mladezi cultural centre. The range of pieces on show - which are being exhibited as part of the Split Film Festival - includes graphic art, videos and photography. Split can be combined with several other destinations during the course of a Croatia sailing holiday, including the island of Makarska and the historic coastal city of Dubrovnik. ![]() |
