People with an interest in art and architecture can visit Split during Croatia sailing holidays in the future
to see Diocletian's Palace. The ancient monument is one of the subjects covered in a new book that explores the art, architecture and history of Croatia, the Art Newspaper reports. Travellers who are hoping to absorb some local culture during their Adriatic cruises might be interested in looking at the publication, which is called Croatia: Aspects of Art, Architecture and Cultural Heritage, before setting off. Sheila McNally is the author of the section on Diocletian's Palace, a building that was built by the Roman emperor Diocletian at the turn of the fourth century AD. The palace is now a Unesco World Heritage site and is one of many unique attractions travellers can see as part of a Croatia sailing holiday. Also included in the book is a section on the chapel of Giovanni Orsini in the cathedral at Trogir, another destination that holidaymakers can look out for during Adriatic cruises. ![]() |
