| Croatia sailing holidays: Be 'awestruck' in Dubrovnik |
| Thursday, 10 December 2009 12:15 |
Travellers planning a Croatia sailing holiday in the future might be interested in visiting Dubrovnik after hearing an
experienced journalist's opinion on the city.Chicago Tribune writer Philip Hersh said that Dubrovnik is one of only three cities that have left him "awestruck" during 25 years of travelling the world for his work. The other two destinations to have this effect on the journalist are Jerusalem and Prague. Mr Hersh offered his enthusiastic description of Dubrovnik as part of a blog looking back on some of the destinations he has visited during his career, a list that includes the likes of Havana, East Germany, Hangzhou and St Petersburg. One of the main motivations for travellers to visit Dubrovnik during a Croatia sailing holiday could be to see its historical monuments, such as the fortified walls that surround the city. Holidaymakers can choose an Adriatic cruise itinerary that begins in Dubrovnik and stops off in Split, another historic destination. ![]() |
